William Romero

William Romero, 90, was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on January 20, 2026, at his home in Estancia, New Mexico. He was born in Palma on May 16, 1935, to Liberato and Rosario Romero. William shared nearly 60 loving years with his devoted wife, Pauline Padilla Romero.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Joe A. Romero, Albert Romero,  Toney Romero and Freddie Romero; his sisters Linda R. Maes, Berna Mares, and Lucille Gomez; and his children Rose Stokan and Willie Lee Romero.

He is survived by his children Marcella and Michael Lasher, Ida and Ronnie Reynolds, William and Colleen Romero, Katherine and Derek Snead, and Anita and Adrian. His grandchildren include Ocello Morales, Stephanie, Ronald, Anthony and Carisima Reynolds, Leedro and Natalie Romero, Amanda Wallace, Dedra Wallace, Jeffrey Gore, Hannah Snead, Isabelle and Hawkeye, Briana and Kalef Dile, and Matthew and Lindsey Burns. His great‑grandchildren are Alyssa and Riley Szymkowiak, Brodee, Deeandre, and Easton Reynolds, Andres, Natalia and Noelani Romero, Isabella, Avery, Aubrey, and Audrey Rodriguez, Kylie Berer, Justen and Alysha, Shelby, and Jessica Gore, and Ryker Burns. His great‑great‑grandchildren, Kaleigh, Avah, Lane, and Mila Gore, Bethany and Ryan Szymkowiak.

William will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends, and the community he loved.

A viewing will be held at 9 AM on Friday, January 30, 2026, at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, followed by a rosary at 10 AM and Mass. Burial will take place at the Estancia Catholic Cemetery, with pallbearers Ocello Morales, Ronald Reynolds, Anthony Reynolds, Matthew Burns,  Justen Gore, and Leedro Romero.
