In Loving Memory of Vaughn J. Bartlett

Vaughn J. Bartlett, 74, passed away on June 24, 2026, after succumbing to cancer.

Born on December 24, 1951, in Bremerton, Washington, Vaughn was the son of Joseph Clifton Bartlett and Betty Ilene Bartlett. He grew up alongside his older sister, Leah Faye Bartlett, and younger brother, Steve Bartlett.

Vaughn proudly served his country in the United States Army as an artillery specialist. After his military service, he worked as an EMT and at a Todd Shipyard before later finding his career in school grounds maintenance. After moving to New Mexico in 1993, he worked for the Moriarty School District before continuing his career with Albuquerque Public Schools, where he took pride in creating beautiful spaces.

On March 19, 1985, Vaughn married Sandra Lee Webb. Their devotion to one another was unwavering. When Sandra suffered an aneurysm in 2002, Vaughn became her constant caregiver, never leaving her side and faithfully caring for her until her passing on June 29, 2024. His quiet dedication and unconditional love were a testament to the kind of husband and man he was.

Vaughn had a special love for animals and rarely met one he didn't befriend. He found joy in growing things, especially tending to his tomato plants. Whether it was fixing something, lending a hand, or offering thoughtful advice, he was always there for those who needed him. He was dependable, humble, and generous, a man whose actions spoke far louder than words.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lee Bartlett; his parents, Joseph Clifton Bartlett and Ilene Bartlett; and his sister, Leah Faye Bartlett.

He is survived by his daughters, Dawn, Paula, and Jessica Bartlett; his brother, Steve Bartlett; grandchildren; extended family; and many friends whose lives were made better by knowing him.

In keeping with Vaughn's wishes, he will be cremated. A remembrance dinner will be held at his favorite restaurant, The Whole Hog Cafe in Albuquerque, on July 9th at 6pm, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate his life.

He will be deeply loved, greatly missed, and remembered always.
