Ramona Castillo

Ramona Castillo 78, passed away suddenly on January 12, 2024. She was born to Alfredo and Casianita Gonzales on May 17, 1945. She learned to cook at a young age and was a cook at various restaurants in Santa Fe, including her sisters restaurant, Molly's. In 1999 she moved to Willard to help care for her mother and also worked at the Willard Cantina. She enjoyed cooking for her family, who she loved very much. Ramona is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Victor and Alfredo Gonzales Jr., her brothers-in-laws Richard Gallegos and Esquipula Archibeque, her ex and best friend Albert Maes, and grandson Christopher Maes. She is survived by her son Albert Danny Maes(Margie), grandsons, Aaron Maes(Faith), Brian Maes(Rachel), granddaughters Bianca Gallegos(Tony), Kasandra Maes(Shiloh),and Brianna Maes, great grandsons Alonzo and Aaron Maes Jr. Also surviving her are her brothers Juan Gonzales(Lila), Joe Gonzales(Bertha), sisters Molly Archibeque, and Arsenia Gallegos. Rosary will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Willard at 10am Thursday with mass at 11. Pallbears are her grandchildren Aaron, Kasandra, Brian and Brianna, and Brothers Juan and Joe. Honorary Pallbearers are Bianca, Margie Caldwell, Shiloh Sap, Yolanda Gallegos, and Margarita Gonzales. She was loved by all her family and will be missed very much. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to HarrisHanlon Mortuary in Moriarty.
