Hooty and her beloved husband, Gene Zink, built a home in Phoenix, Arizona, before eventually settling in McIntosh, New Mexico, where they built many friendships and created many cherished memories.
She was known for her fun-loving personality, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. Hooty had a gift for bringing people together, especially around her table, where her delicious cooking made everyone feel at home. Her warmth, laughter, and unconditional love touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Barnes, Doug and Karen Zink, and Rodney Zink; her grandchildren, Kristy Harris and Jesse Barnes; her great-grandchildren, Tyler Montoya, Davin Harris, Jacquelyne Barnes, Jared Barnes, and Sebastian Barnes; and her great-great-grandchildren, Michael Montoya and Reigan Montoya.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gene Zink; her parents, Russell and Bernice Clark; and her siblings, Eldonna, Vernon, Thomas, and Sarah “Dolly.”
