Kenyon Elmo Nowotny
Ken passed away at home on May 23, 2026 after recently celebrating both his 90th birthday and his 53rd wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife Ramona, his four children and their spouses, Kenyon (Lindsay), Kevin (Kirstina), Kelby (Julie), Kimberly (Ivan), and six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was born on April 13, 1936 in Wichita, Kansas to Mary and Elmo Nowotny. His sister, Moonyeen, became sick and died suddenly shortly after turning 13. It was a tremendous blow to the entire family.
Later, the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska. After high school he attended Central Technical Institute, then majored in engineering at the University of Omaha.
After graduation, he moved to Albuquerque to work at Sandia National Labs.
In 1973, he married Ramona Schofield.
Ken spent several years as a member of the New Mexico Mounted Patrol, followed by several years involved with the Cub and Boy Scouts, before taking an active interest in genealogy.
He will be buried in the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty, New Mexico.
