Joe Lynn Rogers

Moriarty

Joe Lynn Rogers, age 74, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born on February 12, 1951, in Muleshoe, Texas, where he was raised alongside his siblings. Later in life, he relocated to Artesia, New Mexico, and in the summer of 1989, he made Moriarty, New Mexico, his home with his wife and daughters.

Joe spent his entire working life in the construction field, where he was known for his skill, work ethic, and versatility. He could run just about anything—from small tractors and graders to dozers and excavators—and he also spent years driving truck cross-country. No matter the job, Joe took pride in honest work and doing things right.

More than anything, Joe was a people person. He never met a stranger—whether it was in a small diner, at a local bar, or passing someone on the job. His easygoing nature, friendly conversation, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Joe is survived by his daughters Lynnetta Rogers and her husband David Saline, and Samantha Austin and her husband Brian Austin. He was a proud grandfather to Kyle, Tracy, Robin, Jesse, Skyler, Bailey, and Koby, and a blessed great-grandfather to Eryn, Jayden, Olivia, Corralynn, Amelia, Jasper, and Jayco, who is due any day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Rogers and Inez Wood, his brothers Jimmy, Jessie, and Jerry Rogers, and his sister Darlene.

Joe will be remembered for his strong hands, generous heart, quick friendships, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he was so proud of.
