Sep 23, 1948 — Jun 27, 2026

Ewing, New Mexico

In Loving Memory of Geronimo "Jerry" Sanchez Geronimo "Jerry" Sanchez passed away on June 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, ingenuity, and unconditional love for his family and friends. Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate a life that was lived with joy, hard work, and a smile that could brighten any room. Jerry was born on September 23, 1948, in Willard, New Mexico, where he was raised and developed the values that would guide him throughout his life. As a young man, he ventured to Dallas, Texas, before eventually returning to New Mexico and making his home in Ewing, NM where he found comfort in being close to the place he always considered home. A hardworking man with a remarkable talent for fixing and creating, Jerry began his career in an automotive paint shop before spending many dedicated years at EMW, where he remained until his retirement. He had an inventive mind and a gift for building just about anything. If the right tool didn't exist, Jerry would make one himself. He loved solving problems, creating games, and finding new ways to make life a little easier and a lot more fun. While Jerry worked hard, he knew how to enjoy life even more. He loved dancing and could almost always be found on the dance floor on the weekends, surrounded by friends and good music. He enjoyed sharing a nice, clean scotch, telling jokes that kept everyone laughing, and spending time with the people he loved most. Whether he was making someone laugh, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying a conversation, Jerry had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. More than anything, Jerry cherished his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Delfino and Aurora, his loving sister, Laurie, brother in law, Vincent and his cherished great-grandson, Easton. He is survived by his son, Geronimo Jerry Sanchez Jr. ("Gerald"), his daughter in law Esther; his sisters, Josie and her husband, Louie, and Mary and her husband, Ralph; his grandchildren, Monique and Cim Luna, Isaac and Ashley Sanchez, and Angelic and Lane; and his great-grandchildren, Mali, Micah, Aiden, Lincoln, Dayton, and Braxton. Each of them carries forward a part of his spirit, his humor, and the love he so generously shared. Jerry will be remembered not only for what he built with his hands but for what he built in the hearts of those who knew him. He taught those around him the value of hard work, the importance of laughter, and the joy of gathering with the people you love. His stories, his jokes, his dancing, and his creative spirit will be missed beyond words but remembered with every smile they continue to inspire. Though he is no longer with us, Jerry's love lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless memories that will be shared for generations to come.
