Francis Anthony Baca, age 90, of Mesteno, NM, passed away on January 14, 2026, in his family home surrounded by family and loved ones.

Francis Baca, born November 30, 1935 in Albuquerque, NM to Eddie and Naphie Baca, grew up in Belen. He married Felicita in 1957 and together they raised seven children. Throughout his career, Francis balanced his work with the forest service alongside managing his ranch, earning respect for his hard work, generosity, and dedication to supporting others. He cherished ranch life and instilled resilience and integrity in his family, leaving behind a legacy defined by commitment and care for his family and community.

Francis is survived by his wife Felicita Baca, and children Naphie Lovato, Francisco Baca, Debbie Benavides, Louise Ortega, Margaret Free, Joseph Baca. His grandchildren, his great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren too numerous to name, his sister Marykay Abeyta. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and children AnnaMarie Nunez and David Baca.

A Rosary will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic church on Friday, January 16th at 6:00pm. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic church on Saturday, January 17th at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church or Masses to be said in his honor.
