Elsie Pearl Cavasos

Elsie Pearl Cavasos, 93 (most principally known as Pearl), a lifetime resident of New Mexico passed away February 13, 2026. Pearl was born on August 11, 1932 in Cuervo, NM to Paul and Mildred (Jones) Bailey.

Pearl was born and raised on the Bailey family ranch in Cuervo, NM. She married Carl Cavasos on December 29, 1952 in Estanica, NM.  

Pearl was preceded in death by husband Carl Cavasos; her parents; and siblings Ophelia, Viola, Wilma, James “Bud”, Kenneth, Walt, Oda Fay, Calvin, Fran, (two infants died at birth).

Pearl is survived by daughter Bonita Busse and husband Michael of Quemado Lake, NM; son Ernest Cavasos of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter Christina Davis and husband Mark of Santa Fe NM; grandson Carl Cavasos, wife Amy, and great grandsons Knox and Axl of Wilmington, NC; sister Maurine Young and husband Ronald of Clovis, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Friday, February 20, 2026 @ 11:00 AM at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty, NM with Pastor Jason Boggan officiating. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.
