Earl Edwin Brayman, 80, a longtime resident of Stanley, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2026, at his home in Stanley.
Earl was born on March 2, 1946, to Harry and Dorothy (Warren) Brayman in Meadville, Pennsylvania.
Earl proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict as a member of Helicopter Combat Support Squadron One. He was a Blue Water Navy veteran and served aboard the USS Hancock.
Earl married Jennifer Fishburn on July 12, 1970, in Carrizozo, New Mexico. Together, they built a life centered around family, hard work, and the things they loved. They returned to Ohio, where they purchased the Brayman Dairy Farm, the very farm where Earl had been born and raised. In 1974, they returned to New Mexico, where they continued raising their family and making a lifetime of memories.
Earl was a glass-half-full kind of guy. He had a positive outlook on life and a way of finding joy in the everyday moments. He enjoyed raising and showing horses, fishing, hunting, camping, and, of course, ice cream. Above all, Earl loved his family. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were a tremendous source of pride and happiness. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, positive spirit, and the love he shared so freely with those around him.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Dorothy Brayman, and his sister, Donna Hudson.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jennifer Brayman, of the family home in Stanley, New Mexico; four daughters, Lisa and her husband, Joe Lopez, of Stanley, New Mexico; Amy and her husband, Jamie Ortiz, of Stanley, New Mexico; Christell Thomas, of Sandia Park, New Mexico; and Megan and her husband, Doug Stokes, of Edgewood, New Mexico; one sister, Marie and her husband, Carlin Harmon; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are forever grateful for the years we shared, the lessons he taught us, the love he gave us, and the memories we will carry for the rest of our lives. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Stanley Union Church in Stanley, New Mexico.
