In Loving Memory of David Leroy Anglin June 11, 1959 – September 22, 2026 David Leroy Anglin was born on June 11, 1959, in Decatur, Illinois, and passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2026. David moved with his family to New Mexico shortly after his birth and was raised in the East Mountains. 

He was known for his kind and friendly spirit, his willingness to lend a hand, and his ability to make friends wherever he went. David never seemed to know a stranger. He carried a natural curiosity and love for adventure with him throughout his life. David enjoyed exploring and collecting memorabilia of all kinds, including baseball cards, comic books, music, and books. He also loved photography and took pictures along the way, capturing pieces of the many places, people, and adventures that made up his life. Some of David’s favorite memories were made alongside his dad, brother, and uncle at auto racing events, from NASCAR races to local dirt tracks. He was also a devoted Chicago Bears fan, a love he shared with his dad. David’s adventurous nature eventually led him to try truck driving. He bought his own truck and spent several years traveling across the country with his loyal companion, Sibola a loved blue heeler he had gotten as a puppy from his brother. Together, they traveled countless miles and shared many adventures on the road. Eventually, David decided that life on the road had kept him away from family long enough. He returned home to Moriarty, New Mexico, where he began a new chapter in his life. David went to work for Industrial Electric Automation and learned the trade of fabrication. His work took him to projects throughout the state, and he took great pride in the skills he developed and the work he accomplished along the way. 

David was preceded in death by his mother, Mona Ortiz; his brother, Gordon Anglin; his sister, Rhonda Anglin; and several beloved aunts and uncles. 

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Marvin and Maria Anglin of Moriarty; his sisters, Tonia Jones of Edgewood and Barbara, & Burl Lewis of Los Lunas; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family members, and friends from near and far. David’s life was filled with curiosity, adventure, stories, and experiences. Those who knew him will remember his friendliness, his willingness to help others, and the many memories he made along the way. His adventures may have taken him many places, but the memories he left behind will remain with those who knew and loved him. 

Celebration of Life A Celebration of Life for David will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at VFW Post 3370, 13 Calle del Monte Rd., Moriarty, New Mexico. Family and friends are warmly invited to come together to celebrate David’s life and share their favorite stories and memories of time spent with him.
