Daniel “Dan” Kevan Jordan

Daniel “Dan” Kevan Jordan, age 66, passed away on August 20, 2026, in Moriarty, New Mexico.

Dan was born on September 17, 1959, in Austin, Minnesota, to William Jordan and Gwendolyn Doggett, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in New Mexico and graduated from Sandia High School in 1977.

In 1978, Dan answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. He proudly served from 1978 through 1981. Following his military service, Dan returned to civilian life and built a career as a heavy equipment operator, a profession well suited to his hardworking nature.

Dan was a man who worked hard and enjoyed life on his own terms. He was an avid firearms enthusiast and collector and had a particular passion for the skill and precision involved in creating his own ammunition. But there was another side to Dan that those fortunate enough to see it will remember well: he loved country western dancing and was described by those who knew him as one of the best country western dancers around.

Dan was the father of three children: Jessica Hanson, Joshua Jordan, and Nathan Jordan. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica, whose children are Preston Hanson and Cameron Keller.

Dan is survived by his sons, Joshua Jordan and Nathan Jordan, and his grandchildren. Joshua’s children are Andrew Coronado, Alise Coronado, Daniel Jordan and Sylas Moore, and Nathan’s son is Adam Jordan. Together, his children and grandchildren carry forward the Jordan family and Dan’s memory.

Dan will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery, where he will receive the military honors and recognition befitting his service to our country.

Funeral and memorial arrangements are still being finalized. Additional information regarding services will be provided to family and friends as soon as it becomes available.

Dan’s life was marked by hard work, independence, service to his country, and the things he genuinely enjoyed.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives crossed paths with his.
