Boyd Otto Stauffacher, Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 13th, 1966, passed suddenly at his home on April 28th, 2026.
He is survived by his father, Lester Stauffacher, two brothers, Chad and Rusty, and his two sisters, Anamae Barber and Amy Kersner. His nine children and twenty-two grandchildren.
Boyd grew up in Humboldt County, California, where he went to school, worked at his grandfather’s gas station, was married, divorced, and had four children: William, Robert (April), Steven, and his only daughter, Andrea.
In 1995, he moved to New Mexico and, in 1996, was working on a road crew when he met Jennifer, and they were married a year later. Together, they raised her two sons, Jonathan Lopez and Aaron Gomez, and had four more children: Jacob (Rowena), Timothy (Staci), Zachary (Deceased), and Joshua.
Throughout the years, he worked for Mike Dainel's body shop, Jr’s Tire shop, Rip Griffins, TA, and Kenworth. In 2004, after the loss of his son Zachary, he branched out on his own, taking his family with him and opened B&J services, a trailer teardown, lot clean-up business, and worked out of the family home, doing whatever he could to support his family.
In 2009, he took a leap of faith and opened BOS Automotive, a mechanic shop, located at 41 and Martinez, in Moriarty, where he met several members of our community, and served the community until he unfortunately became fully disabled.
Boyd was a strong, hard-working man, a true mechanic through and through, who tried to teach whenever he could, raising his boys to be strong, independent, hard-working men. He had a generous spirit, always bringing in strangers, lost souls, travelers, etc, trying to give knowledge, experience, shelter, or a meal. For a night or perhaps a week.
Boyd left a legacy to his children and twenty-two grandchildren. He will forever be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Services will be held at The Moriarty Lions Club, Sunday May 17th, 2026@ 11 AM at 515 Lions Ct Lane, Moriarty, NM 87035, at the Moriarty Lions Clubhouse. Followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon.
