Bonnie Susan Jacques was the hostess that never let anyone invited to our home leave hungry. More often than not they left with containers of food for another day. She always made far more food than was needed for the occasion. And the food was delicious. She also welcomed clients and patients into our veterinary hospital with smiles and a caring attitude that helped make our patients more comfortable. She spent many a late night assisting the veterinarian with late night emergencies and was always willing to help. With her assistance in surgery and emergency treatments, many pets were able to go home to their owners. She was a large part of our veterinary practice in Donnelly and before that in Maryland.
Bonnie was a horse enthusiast having raised horses in Maryland. She became familiar with the warm blood horses and spent many a night helping the mares with their foaling. She did not get involved with showing horses, she was more enthusiastic with the raising them. Her love of horses began as a young girl and continued throughout her adult life. Her other passion was chickens. She had names for every one of them.
Bonnie is succeeded by her husband, Earnest (Ted), Brother John Stuart Hoverman, son Peter, daughter Amy and 4 granddaughters. She passed away on April 12, 2026 at the age of 77 in Tijeras, NM in the presence of her husband and daughter. She loved Idaho, our home for 21 years, and the people she befriended.
