Billee Lorane Nigh (Kasner) (October 25, 1934 to December 31, 2020) Billee Nigh, 86, passed away on December 31, 2020 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born and raised in Bridgeport, Texas, she attended Bridgeport High School. She was a majorette in the marching band, and she graduated in 1952 as valedictorian. Being the oldest of her three siblings, she always strived for excellence. She believed in kindness, the power of prayer, and she poured her heart and soul into everything she did. She moved to Iowa shortly after graduation and started a family there. While in Iowa, she enjoyed time with her children. She was a cub scout leader and active with the PTA. She was also a successful Avon consultant. In the spring of 1968, her family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she continued to raise her three children. She worked for GTE Lenkurt, INC. as a supervisor, and she was a member of The Eastern Stars. She was an amazing cook. If she found out your favorite dish, she would make it for you! Once her children were grown, she and her husband moved to Vallecito Lake, Colorado, where she earned her real-estate agent license and worked successfully as a real-estate agent. Just for fun, she and her husband worked together to manage a local RV park. They were devoted members of the Vallecito Baptist Church. Billee enjoyed working in the church nursery and teaching Sunday school. She and her husband were also blessed at this time to adopt a son. They formed many amazing friendships there, but they eventually moved back to New Mexico to be closer to family. Not being able to entirely leave the mountains behind, they chose to live in Edgewood. Billee spent the rest of her life in Edgewood, New Mexico. She was a passionate member of the Edgewood First Baptist Church. She taught special education at a local school. Her life was led by God and grace. She even spent many years as a caregiver to a local elderly man. She will be remembered as a selfless and loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents: Matt and Hazel Kasner. She is survived by her siblings: Glenda, Kay, and Wayne, her husband: Eddie, her children: Carrol, Gail, Gary and Brandon, her grandchildren: Desiree, Kenneth, and Dustin, her great grandchildren: Ashton, and Colton. In addition to, the many friends, extended family, and caregivers that knew and loved her.
