Remembering Beverly Smith
Cherished Nurse, Friend, and Family Member
With sadness and love, we share the news that Beverly Smith has passed away. Bev left us after a lifetime filled with caring for others and sharing her warmth wherever she went.
Beverly A. Smith was born August 14, 1955, in Baumholder, Germany to SSgt Bernard and Lois Bise. She married Roy Smith and together they lived on a ranch in Estancia, NM. She battled multiple sclerosis for most of her adult life and peacefully passed away on July 8, 2025. She is survived by her husband Roy Smith, daughter Gelene Beverly, brother Michael Bise and his wife Carol, many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends including Stella Chaparro, who was like her daughter, and her ever faithful dog, Stormy.
Bev spent 40 years as a nurse, and it showed in everything she did—whether she was lending an ear, comforting a friend, or looking out for loved ones. Her huge heart made every day brighter for those lucky enough to know her.
She found joy in simple things—family gatherings, stories around the table, and her favorite traditions. Her passions, from caring for patients to cheering on loved ones, left a lasting mark on everyone she met.
We’ll miss her humor, her conversations, and the way she made everyone feel at home.
We’ll be getting together to celebrate Bev’s life with stories, smiles, and maybe a few tears. If you’d like to remember her, consider donating to National Multiple Sclerosis Society (nationalmssociety.org) or simply do something kind for someone else—just like Bev would have done.
Though she’s gone, Bev’s kindness and strength lives on in all of us. We love you, Bev, and we’ll carry your memory with us always.
