Alberto Candelaria, 86, passed away May 13, 2026 at home in Mountainair, NM. Alberto was born in Manzano, NM April 11, 1940 to Jose Teodoro and Luz Amalia (Turrietta) Candelaria. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Teodoro Candelaria; sister-in-law, Oralia Candelaria; sister Rosarito Candelaria; and two sons Jerry & Jose Waquie.
Alberto was a member of the St Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, NM, and was a very kind & generous man. He helped anyone in need in however way he could. Alberto was also an avid Dallas Cowboy Fan.
He is survived by life long partner Carmelita Waquie; son Laurence and his wife Sara Candelaria; daughter Katherine Waquie; son Tim and his wife Miranda Waquie. 6 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers Guillermo and Juanita Candelaria, Alfredo and Oralia (deceased) Candelaria, and Mario and Frances Candelaria; one sister Magdalena Lajeunesse. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
Our many thanks to those who helped care for him in the end but most especially his grandson Ivan Nofchissey.
Funeral services are as follows; Rosary will be recited Saturday May 30, 2026 @ 10:om Followed by the Mass both at Nuestra Senora De Los Dolores Catholic Church in Manzano, NM. Burial will be in Nuestra Senora De Los Dolores Catholic Church yard cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.
